Jack Lalanne was one of the most profound nutrition enthusiasts of our time. Hellbent on finding ways average people could make healthy decisions, he and his team created some of the best juicers the world had ever seen.

Unfortunately, it appears Jack Lalanne's juicers are making their last debut.

While we can't say this for sure, a lot of the evidence points to a halt in production.

So what does this mean and why did we make this page?

Because while Jack Lalanne Juicers appear to be running out, there are still some venders selling them on Amazon.

Jack Lalanne Juicers are officially collector's items.

As some of the greatest centrifugal juicers of their time, these machines are truly timeless. With that being said, there are plenty of higher quality juicers that sell for a fraction of the new Jack Lalanne juicer prices (since they are officially antiques now).

If you're looking into purchasing a juicer, we highly recommend looking into models that focus on nutrient preservation. We made an article specifically targeting these models.

Enjoy!

Who Was Jack Lalanne?

Jack Lalanne was a pioneer of the initial health and nutrition movement that has been growing for the last 100 years. To say this man was an influencer of our current nutrition mindset would be a vast understatement.

Jack Lalanne opened one of the first known fitness clubs in Oakland, California in 1936, hosted a fitness TV show from 1951-1985, and invented two of the most famous exercise machines to date, the leg extension and the smith machine (1).

He made it his job to learn and educate those about nutrition and fitness so they could live out their best life.

Jack Lalanne was also a motivational speaker, inventor and entrepreneur. He was relentlessly in love with life and he wanted to inspire and create opportunities for everyone to find the joy he had found.

A commendable goal that led to a long, prosperous life of wealth and satisfaction. Jack Lalanne died at age 96 as a man of incredible achievement.

Why Did He Create Juicers?

Jack Lalanne urged the importance of a healthy diet (primarily vegetables), but he also understood the direction the world was headed. With sugar and junk food on the rise, he knew that the likelihood of the average person eating raw fruits and vegetables on a daily basis was unlikely.

The temptation and convenience was just too much to compete with.

Thats where juicing would come in.

Juicing was the delicious and fun way to get all your vitamins, minerals and fiber for the day. It tasted fantastic, it was far less time consuming and it offered people a trendy new way to get all their nutrition.

Why Would I Buy a Jack Lalanne Juicer?

Unfortunately, the Jack Lalanne juicer manufacturing has come to a slow decline. While it was a fantastic juicer, its been outcompeted by some of the current leading kitchen tech manufacturers like Breville, Cuisinart, and Hamilton Beach.

It seems as though the models are running out and this is the last call for Jack Lalanne juicers.

So why would I buy a Jack Lalanne juicer with all the advancements in the current kitchen tech world?

A few reasons...

1) You need a solid, high quality centrifugal juicer.

2) You want to take advantage of a true, once in a lifetime collector's item.

3) You appreciate Jack Lalanne and the contribution he made to the health and wellness industry.

Summary:

Most definitely the highest reviewed Jack Lalanne juicer on our list. Equipped with a 3600 RPM induction motor, this centrifugal juicer has earned a reputation for juicing fruits like a pro. It also received fantastic feedback with how easy it is to use, clean, and the awesome price tag. Customers also repeatedly spoke on the longevity of this Jack Lalanne model.

While very proficient with fruits, this unit did have some mixed reviews with leafy greens and high fiber foods (like carrots). It also spins at 3600 RPMs which can deplete nutrients, particularly when juicing nutrient-dense greens. If you plan on juicing greens, I suggest you look at our in-depth best juicers for greens article. This is still a fantastic juicer, just keep in mind what you'll be juicing.

Summary:

A fantastic centrifugal juicer that has attracted some extremely loyal customers. The most common responses were the ease of cleaning, the stainless steel finish and the ability to simply juice large quantities of food in seconds.

Here's the catch:

I'm inclined to tell you that there are some better centrifugal juicers for a lower price. At this point, companies are selling these Jack Lalanne juicers for two to three times their original price. Yes, they were fantastic juicers for their time, but if you're not a collector, I'd look into some of the more contemporary models. The Breville Juice Fountain Plus or the Aicok Juice Extractor are good places to start.

Like many of the prior models, customers were very happy with the ease of cleaning and the simplicity of use. Multiple customers talked about how much they loved the safety features and how the unit will only run when everything is in its proper position.

Again, unless you're a collector, there are other juicer models that will offer you better juicing for a better price.

Similar to the white JLPJB model above (besides the chrome-looking trim), this model has received consistently good reviews. Check out the "pros" list above (or the summary on any of the models above). All these comments were received multiple times and reflect similarly amongst different Jack Lalanne models.

The only negative quality unique to this model is the ability for the white exterior to take on the color of the fruits and vegetables you juice. This obviously only happens when the juicer isn't cleaned directly after use (carrots are apparently the biggest offender).

  1. Hello! I have the Jack Lalanne Power Juice Pro. I’ve used it once since I’ve had it for the last several years. I decided to give it a try the other night and I did celery and an apple and the pulp came out pretty dry. It is very quiet and very easy to clean. I have been researching the benefits and the cons of juicing and also have come across different topics regarding centrifugal which I believe these models are centrifugal. And there are benefits to that but the pulp is got a lot of the fiber that our body needs so I intend on incorporating the fiber into some recipes. One of the things I was wondering is if you know whether or not during the juicing process if there is any heat being produced during the process because I noticed in some of my research that the heat can take away the benefits of juicing. I guess I would like to know if this is a collector that I just need to hold onto and purchase some thing that’s going to give me the benefits healthwise all the way around or if I will still be able to use this without wasting any nutritional benefits.

    1. Hey Barbara,

Thanks for the response and the thoroughness in your question. Congrats on the new juicer!

The Jack Lalanne Power Juicer is a centrifugal type juicer so it does create more heat than a masticating juicer. Heat will definitely have an impact on nutrition (more so to the heat sensitive vitamins like vitamin C). Here’s a link to a study they did to expose the difference in nutrition between juice created from a centrifugal juicer and juice created from a masticating juicer.

      https://www.goodnature.com/blog/cold-pressed-vs-centrifugal-juice-nutritional-data/

It’s important to mention that the resulting juice of a centrifugal juicer still has a large quantity of vitamins. Based on the study above, it averages about 15% less than a slow masticating juicer. In regards to methods of minimizing this nutrition loss, there isn’t a whole lot you can do. I’d personally recommend not juicing for extended periods of time as this will increase the heat in the chamber.

I honestly wouldn’t worry about the slight nutrition loss. I wouldn’t call it negligible but I also wouldn’t call it overly significant. In the future, you can always upgrade to a slow masticating juicer.

If you have any followup questions, please let me know. I can also point you in the direction of some really helpful articles.

      Cheers,

      Michael

    1. Hey Lucille,

I think they have pdfs available online. If you don’t mind having a digital copy, here’s a link to the manual for the 100 year anniversary jack Lalanne fusion juicer.

If you need a physical copy, let me know and I can do some more recon.

      All the best to you,

      Michael

  3. I just bought a Jack Lulane juicer at thrift. looked clean as a whistle. came home and made celery juice and it was good.
and messy. so taking machine apart to clean and i think i need the crescent tool. i juiced water to clean off blade. it worked pretty well.
but i will still order a crescent tool to remove blade! not bad for 7bucks + price of C tool.

    1. Wow Pam that is unbelievable! People are really going crazy trying to get ahold of any Jack Lalanne juicers these days. Hold onto it with your life 🙂
I looked on Amazon and it seems that the crescent tool is still easily available. Let us know how it goes!

      Cheers,

      Michael
